TORONTO - A Liberal bankbencher wants Ontario to adopt a system of ``Silver Alerts'' to help police and families track down Alzheimer's patients who wander off.
Hamilton Liberal Sophia Aggelonitis (AG'-gah-loh-nee-teez) says she is backing the alerts after her grandmother went missing after a family dinner.
Several members of the legislature told similar stories about family members or friends who suffer from Alzheimer's or dementia.
Deputy Opposition Leader Christine Elliott and New Democrat Rosario Marchese are supporting the system that is similar to the ``Amber Alerts'' used when children go missing.
The system has already proven to be a success in 12 U-S.
