PA Board of Probation and Parole Announces the Passing of Board Member Dr. Gerard N. Massaro
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole Chairman Catherine C. McVey today announced the passing of Dr. Gerard N. Massaro, a member of the board since 2004.
"Today we mourn the passing of a colleague and great public servant who was committed to protecting the safety of the public throughout his professional career," McVey said. "On behalf of board members and employees, I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Gerry's family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you."
Dr. Massaro was appointed to the board by Governor Rendell and confirmed by the Senate in February 2004. He had over 38 years of experience in psychology and the criminal justice system. He previously served on the Board of Pardons and also served as the psychologist for the Pittsburgh Police Department and as the Clinical Director for two private community corrections centers.
A viewing will be held at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 20, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at St. Kilian Church in Mars.
