JAMES J. MILLER, JR., President—Jim is the founder of Collaborative Marketing Solutions (CMS) and Therapeutic Marketing, both of which support online web properties that provide news, information and community geared toward specific therapeutic categories. He has a highly integrated pedigree in healthcare communications with more than 20 years in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. Starting out as a publisher, Jim quickly moved from print to web in order to take full advantage of the efficiencies and ease of access that only the internet can afford.
Jim’s expertise in the pharmaceutical sector ranges from training, compliance and publishing to developing online programs and interactive marketing solutions. His broad range of experience has evolved into a thorough understanding of who life sciences industry professionals are targeting, thereby enabling him to develop highly successful solutions for his clients. Throughout Jim’s tenure, he has worked on strategic planning, product development, and sales and marketing initiatives with some of the most respected companies in healthcare today, including Elsevier, inVentiv Health, NXLevel and HCPro. His client relations are even more impressive with companies such as GSK, Merck, Lilly, Sanofi Aventis, Novartis and Schering Plough topping the list.
In launching these companies, Jim hopes to take healthcare communications to a new level by collectively uniting all stakeholders in a specific treatment pathway. Both CMS and Therapeutic Marketing’s unique web properties provide tailored information for precise target audiences through a single online gateway accessible to anyone who wants to learn more about a therapeutic category or particular disease state.
ROBIN JAY, Editorial Director —Robin has 20-plus years of experience in healthcare publishing, creative staff management, strategic editorial planning, interviewing and feature writing for the behavioral healthcare industry, managed care organizations, hospital systems, pharmacy benefit management companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and research institutions. She worked as executive editor for two national healthcare magazines (for both providers and pharmacy consumers) and is a former CNN, ABC, NBC affiliate news reporter/anchor. Robin brings strategic development, writing, editing and management skills to the team.
ANNA MIRA KING, Director of Sales—A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Ursinus College and current student at the Wharton School of Business, Anna is an experienced sales and marketing professional with a strong background in life science publishing. Having held senior positions in sales, marketing and new business development at both The Scientist magazine and BC Decker Medical Publisher, Anna has a keen understanding of this multi-faceted market segment. Throughout her tenure, her cliental has consisted of small and large pharmaceutical, biotech and device companies as well as local, state and international governments and policy organizations.
JENNIFER HAGEMANN, Managing Editor—Jennifer has more than 13 years of experience in healthcare educational publishing for MCOs, hospital systems and pharmaceutical companies, including Schering Plough and Ortho-McNeil. She worked as managing editor of two national health magazines, a script writer for United Behavioral Health online video content modules, and editor of the ANCC’s Case Management Review and Resource Manual, Third Edition. Jennifer shares her project management, writing and editing skills with both creative and marketing teams.
HECTOR ESCOBAR, Internet Strategist—Hector has broad experience in web consulting, go-to-market strategy and e-product development. A graduate of Purdue University with degrees in Political Science and Business Entrepreneurship, he combines both his experience and his education with a passion for technology, and develops strategic internet solutions for the Collaborative Marketing Solutions and Therapeutic Marketing suite of products.
DENNIS MILLER, Senior Writer—Dennis brings 25 years of experience in healthcare educational publishing for MCOs, PBMs, hospital systems and pharmaceutical companies, both online and in print. He worked as member magazine editor for Blue Cross Massachusetts and as senior writer for two national healthcare magazines. Dennis brings strong reporting and writing skills, deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, a probing interview technique, and audio/video production skills to our creative team.
LAUREN N. WEIGAND, Marketing Coordinator—A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where she received a BA in Communication Arts & Sciences, Lauren has an extensive background in promotional events, advertising sales and account management. Among her many roles and responsibilities, Lauren oversees direct marketing, manages multiple databases, coordinates media partnerships and provides executive support.
CHARLES O’BRIEN, Graphic Designer— Charles is a Digital Communications graduate from Lebanon Valley College. With his experience in designing for electronic and print media, Charles applies his skills, knowledge and artistic eye when creating unique and professional website designs and print layouts for both Collaborative Marketing Solutions and Therapeutic Marketing products.
