For 2010, the Program Committee has made the AAGP Annual Meeting an even greater value by adding an extra half-day of CME programming and a neuroscience teaching day immediately preceding the Opening Plenary and Awards Session. Additionally, the Program Committee has noted that past participants have listed the value of networking with colleagues as second in importance to a high quality educational program as the reason for their repeat attendance at the AAGP meeting. For that reason, the 2010 Annual Meeting will include a Networking Reception immediately after the Opening Plenary Session that will enable participants to join their colleagues for food, friendship, and fun.

You will find a quality educational program that includes a broad array of CME sessions including interactive clinician focused sessions on E&M coding, ECT, psychotherapy, diagnostic challenges and more. We will be offering session topics targeted to the clinician educator including curriculum development, as well as new research findings on topics such as bipolar disorder research, biomarkers in geriatric psychiatry, and chemotherapy and the aging brain. This year we also have a number of sessions dedicated to service delivery models, quality monitoring and a new report from the Institute of Medicine on opportunities for the future of geriatric services, policy and research. Among the wide variety of educational sessions you will certainly find topics that meet your professional development needs. The program is presented as four tracks – Clinical, Research, Educator, and All, but participants are able to pick and choose sessions that best fit their individual educational needs.

The AAGP Annual Meeting Program also includes two scientific poster sessions – one focused on new research by seasoned researchers and one focused on early investigators. In addition, the Exhibit Hall will include a unique blend of companies and exhibitors to provide you with information and services to help your practice and your career.

The AAGP Political Action Committee will hold its annual fundraiser on the "Georgia Queen" Riverboat. The GMHF will hold its annual fundraiser at the Westin Hotel, hosting an early celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
